A lane of outbound traffic would be fine, we don't need two lanes there. The issue is that it pushes parking next to the T tracks so it needs a bit of extra room, but there may be ways around this as well.Arihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06058285362842737187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-293100068373105830.post-91554706896447521472019-11-29T11:17:35.547-08:002019-11-29T11:17:35.547-08:00At first I thought this article was reffering to H...At first I thought this article was reffering to Hyde Park, the neighborhood, and while extending the e branch there feels like a stretch, Hyde Park could really use rapid transit, like an orange line extension past Forest Hills or the creation of the Indigo line Catalina Rufinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15296995410658001606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-293100068373105830.post-28919192986929312582018-10-08T12:24:08.993-07:002018-10-08T12:24:08.993-07:00My main concerns with this idea are concerning bic...My main concerns with this idea are concerning bicycles. Streetcar tracks are very dangerous to people on bikes. Placing the streetcar in the right-hand lane on South Huntington to Huntington inbound would force bike users to bike alongside or in-between the tracks, which guaranteed will lead to injuries. As it is now, the left turn there is dangerous from the left lane, but can be achieved from the right lane in low-traffic times and using the pedestrian crossing times when it's busy. Putting the tracks in the right lane would make it impossible for people on bikes to safely navigate the area/intersection.

The other concern would be how the street profile shifts from the buffered bike lanes to no bikes lanes. A possible fix is to have the street car stations be staggered (far side of intersections?), so that each takes up less ROW and bike lanes can be maintained.Jameson Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09838579729985140418noreply@blogger.com
